Look, I hear you.
You've probably heard the term "parasite SEO" being thrown around like a pizza chef throwing a pizza in the air thinking he's cool and hip.
Well.
I'll try to explain it in simple terms.
Essentially, parasite seo means you are using the built-up authority of a third-party website to host your own content in the hopes of ranking faster and higher.
Still have no idea? I got you.
So in even simpler terms.
Imagine you get your SEO-optimised blog post featured on CNN or BBC news.
Do you think it would rank higher than if you posted it to your own blog?
Yes, of course it will.
That's what we are trying to abuse use with parasite seo.
Don't worry, I hear you.
Take Reddit for example.
We all have seen Reddit ranking for pretty much everything under the sun havent we.
That website has MASSIVE authority in the eyes of google.
It also means we can hammer Reddit posts with the dirtiest backlinks (web2.0, cheap PBNS etc) known to man and it'll tank the onslaught because of its massive authority.
If you tried to hammer your own website with such links it would get nuked fast.
To the point where even us mere users sometimes add the word Reddit after we do a Google search for something.
In fact, Google recently struck a deal with Reddit to use Reddit's posts in its AI models.
The best thing about Reddit for Parasite seo purposes?
It's easy to make an account.
I'll write a guide on how to use Reddit as a parasite soon.
But know it is MEGA juicy.
In my experience it indexes and ranks within 72 hours.
Yes.
It is THAT powerful...
Side Note: It's SUPER easy to use to rank for local and branded search terms using Reddit as a parasite among other similar websites.
Here are a few other parasites that are ranking extremely well for me:
Github,
Facebook Groups,
Nas,
Spatial,
Push.fm,
Glose.
I'll make a post for each of those parasites in the very near future so be sure to bookmark this blog.
Each of those parasites are powerful and rank highly for my branded search terms.
Here is an example of a parasite page on Push.fm being used to dominate a local low competition keyword for me:
Notice that I also own the Glose, Github, Reddit and MyAnimeList as well for the search term seo expert in warsop.
:)
Great question.
You see, using a web 2.0 such as Wordpress or Blogger is not a parasite because when you make a blog on those platforms you get a subdomain.
A sub domain is treated as a new website in the eyes of google.
That means none of the original sites authority gets transferred to the new sub domain.
Sad news for us SEO's
:(.
Or is it?
Web 2.0 can still rank for your local branded terms and very low comp keywords though so don't worry.
But don't expect much in terms of ranking power.
Don't blast web 2.0 with garbage links since it's a new website, essentially.
Just know that a parasite is on a website that comes AFTER the .com.
Whereas a web 2.0 is on a subdomain before the .com.
For example:
jamiehenrybrown.wordpress.com is a web 2.0 since my name is before the .com.
Whereas reddit.com/r/JamieHBrown/ is a parasite as it comes after the .com and thus has all the original domains power.
I'll update this post often with new parasites, links and other updates.
